A Santa video that says your child’s name — properly

If your child’s name is not pronounced the way it is spelled, you already know what usually happens. Teachers get it wrong, forms get it wrong, and anything automated gets it wrong most of all.

So we ask. There is a field in the order form for how the name actually sounds — write it however makes sense to you, like “shiv-AWN” for Siobhan or “Tea-adore” for Theodore, and Santa will say it that way.

It is optional, and for most names it is not needed. For the families who need it, it is the difference between a video they keep and a video they quietly delete.

A name dropped into a stock sentence still sounds like a name dropped into a stock sentence. Santa also talks about where your child lives, the things they are into, something they have done well this year, and what they are hoping for at Christmas.

We write three different scripts from those answers and you choose between them. You can edit every word, so if something does not sound right you change it before anything is recorded.

A family video greets each child by name in turn, in one shared film. A bundle gives each child a completely separate video with their own script — and on a bundle you can even give each child a different Santa and a different voice.

Either way, every name is said aloud, and every pronunciation guide is used.
